Administration & Community Support Volunteer

Help with the behind-the-scenes work that keeps SEND in the Dengie running for local families.

What you'll be doing

This is a varied role and the tasks will depend on what's happening in the charity at the time. You won't be expected to do everything — we'll agree tasks that suit your skills, interests and available time. Things you might help with include:

Who we're looking for

Someone reliable who is comfortable using email and basic online tools, communicating with local businesses and organisations, and getting on with agreed tasks independently once settled into the role.

You don't need charity or professional admin experience. Useful skills might come from work, volunteering, community groups, organising events, fundraising or just life experience. An understanding of SEND is helpful but not essential. You should also be comfortable handling information appropriately and knowing when something needs to be passed back to us.

What to expect

The role is flexible and primarily home-based, with around 1 to 3 hours a week on average depending on what's happening. There may also be opportunities to help at fundraising events or activities in person if you'd like to, but this isn't essential.

We'll give you a proper introduction to SEND in the Dengie and the role, and make sure you have everything you need to get started. Reasonable agreed expenses can be reimbursed, and we're happy to provide a reference once you've volunteered with us for an appropriate period.

If you're interested in this role, drop us an email and tell us a little about yourself and why it appeals to you.
